Check your APPEL EXPRESS MODEM control panel in CONTROL PANELS FOLDER in the APPLE MENU ITEMS list, and see that it is set to "Internal Modem" Then on AOL, goto Modem setup and see if it recognizes your modem and assigns it a type...
