O.K., but Jobs is an incredible ego maniac. Jonathan Ives may have designed it, but
Steve Jobs said: "I don't hate this, let's produce it". Nothing gets the green
light at Apple unless Jobs puts his stamp of approval on it. He could have just as
easily said to Ives: "no, I don't like these curves, why do I even try with you
obviously incompetent morons, must I do everything, make it more like a stealth
bomber".

Is there actually wood somewhere on a TAM? Where?

Exactly (I assume you are excluding the iBook)! Something has got to be changing on
the G3s in the near future. I am anticipating for one that the IRDA port will
disappear on forthcoming Revs, possibly to be replaced with Firewire. Given the
translucent Bronze keyboard addition, I also expect to see more "sophisticated"
translucent aspects to the outer case as well: something like O'Grady's speculation
about the professional iBook which would come in Mocha or Cranberry. I would have a
mocha iBook.
