Dankeschn, your instructions worked perfectly and the result was
ausgezeichnet. I filed down the stub and just replaced the click pad and
it works. Thanks.
By the way, a question to the general audience, when I close the PB 2400
and tilt it around there is sound coming from the inside as if there was
something loose. Does anyone know what it could be?
As background information to this new event, I upgraded the hard drive on
a PB G3 Series, I then took the hd I took out of the G3 and had a local
service shop install it in the PB2400 (I figured I would gain an extra
gig rather than have the g3 original dirve sitting around, which is what
it is doing now).
After a while, whenever I carried the PB2400 and tilted it, a sound
(banging) of something really loose came from it. I eventually took it
back to the shop that had installed the G3 hd and they informed me that
the guy who had installed it had been fired and that the g3 hd should
never have been installed in the pb2400 because the power requirements
were different and because the mounting holes on the drive were not the
same. So I had the 1.3 gig hd that originally came with the 2400
reinstalled.
I don't really know if I should upgrade the hd on the 2400. I striclty
use it for business when I travel (not often) and I still have 500MB free
on the 1.3 gig hd after installing all the work apps and work data files
in it.
I don't know. Maybe I should just get the new G3 400 mhz pb and chuck the
old 2400. After all, according to the new evolutionary psychology (EP)
movement, men are genetically programmed leave their old wives for young
girlfriends. I guess that explains my urge (Hi Brandy!)
