Subject: Re: PB2400 hard disc noisy

I had MCE install a 6GB hard drive while they had it open to put in the G3.
I figured that while the 2400 was disassembled they might as well replace
the HD too. I think MCE had 6, 12 and 18 GB drives.

I put the original 1.3GB hard drive into a DataShuttle external enclosure
(also from MCE, $129). The DataShuttle connects to the PB2400 via a Type II
PCMCIA card. The external drive is hot swappable.

I may ask them about this. I don't want to send to back to MCE because I just
got through spending $600 having them upgrade it. Good idea to put the old HD in
an enclosure and use as a backup HD.

Anyone provide advice about opening up my PB2400 and replacing the HD myself? Is
this a realistic option?
