Due to the international nature of development these days, and the fact that (obviously) programmers and designers are already web liteterate, payment in IG is a natural for development freelancers. In fact, you could say that historically (putting aside like "GSR employees"), programming and design freelancers were the "first group to popularly adopt IG as a payment method" If you mean you're thinking of STARTING something like guru.com or elance.com, for the IG community, that would be a waste of time at this stage. It would cost you say 50 grand to set it all up, and you would get no more than 2 or 3 listings a year. Once the IG economy is 100x larger than it is now, it might be a good idea. (A better solution for now would be, Jim Davidson could just add a "freelance development" category on his goldbarter site. The two or three listings a year that would come up could be handled nicely there) {Note that all the sites like guru.com etc., have largely failed anyway. I think guru.com in particular has given up and become more of a conventional employment agency with screening etc.} JP! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 'Gold is the soul of all civil life, that can resolve all things into itself, and turn itself into all things' Samuel Butler --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
