No reason. I may be somewhat unusual on this list, but I happen to love the U.S. Sure, taxes are high, the dollar is an issue and there are other things that may not be 100%. But where is it 100%?
I love America too. It's the ever increasing fascism in certain government agencies and people's minds that is not so good.

70% of the world's population have annual incomes (purchasing power) under $10,000.
More and more of those live in America now. The percentage appears to be increasing....

When you look at the taxes and other issues that folks complain about, take into account what you can do with what you have left. My grandfather who used to say he could buy butter for 50 cents a pound. My grandmother quickly reminded him that he had to work two hours to buy that butter. Today you work 10 minutes to buy that butter that costs $3 per pound.
My Dad used to support a family of five on $30 a week. Not very well or high on the hog but he did do it. This devaluation of currency is the single most destructive force in America today. It forces people to hunger after more and more monetary units just to stay even. It is this forcing (compelled performance; i.e., slavery) that drives people to do things they would never consider if the currency were more stable. Inflated currency is an addiction that requires more and more injected to restore a perceived peace. Taxes, corruption and government waste needlessly fuel this inflationary squirrel cage. Hard metal currencies will reduce this addiction and constantly increasing need for fixes.

And, if the US is so bad,
It's not the US that is so bad. Let's not confuse the so-called government in DC with America. They are NOT the same. Anything can be improved. As long as people as settled on mediocrity that is what they will have. We create our own futures so debates on imperfect situations have a way of revealing possibilities of improvement.

why do we have so many people trying to come here for work? And why so many illegals here working?
An easily earned monetary unit here is one value but sent back home represents many of their monetary units difficult to earn. The Mexicans I've seen hereabouts are willing and able to do hard manual labor - something Americans are no longer interested or able in doing. Actually Americans cannot do the hard labor unless they had the good fortune of growing up on a farm or ranch. Urban bred and raised Americans do not have strength in upper arms, shoulders or backs. Plus the fact they are not educated to be responsible producers but to be "good consumers".

When somebody does come up with that perfect country -- the one that allows you to keep all your hard-earned money, that doesn't tax you, that allows you to earn the highest income in the world, and has a Starbucks on every corner - let me know.

It's your choice where you live.

It's also one's choice HOW they live where they are. The HOW is constantly being dictated. That is the biggest beef, for me anyway. Elevated income is not the only good reason for living in America. What I appreciate more than anything else (I've lived abroad many years) is the SPIRIT and ABILITY TO DO THINGS - as in having so many and varied resources available. Try finding your ordinary American neighborhood hardware store in other countries. In other words the individual is empowered TO DO in this country by its "cater to the individual/customer" infrastructure. Most other countries the individual is crapped upon in favor of their government or their religious beliefs dampens individual initiative and achievement. Where the individual is empowered and honored there is a strong and free society which needs little "law enforcement". Where the individual is dishonored and put down or stifled there is coercion, fascism and a weak society needing much "law enforcement". America was the former and rapidly becoming the latter. Some think we've already made the transition. In many regards we have.
