I'm sorry dimiter, I'm not understanding your objections to this, 
particularly your comment about Mac users?

As for non standard behaviour, I believe that Visual Studio employs this 
behaviour for CTRL-TAB - switching between open editor tabs.  I know, I 
know, its M$ and how dare I utter 'standard' and M$ in the same 
paragraph ;), but I believe that feature has been in there for a while. 
  In my experience I only ever had positive feedback when I added it to 
JBuilder, and the lack of it I find very frustrating in IDEA.

If you really don't like it then it could be an optional behaviour.
