Hi Eugene. I would love to buy my own licence. The company I am contracting for at the moment has bought about 20 (I introduced it here and it spread like mad!), but I would like one in my own name as well, especially if it is only $200.
I am a contractor working through a limited company consisting of just me and one other person. Obviously I would like to charge this license to my company. Unfortunately, the following statement makes this impossible: > ... However please read our license > agreement, the license is non-transferrable, so that even if your > company pays for your license it will never own it anyway. IANAL, but under UK law I believe the company cannot "pay for" things without owning them. Otherwise I could get the company to pay for my house and my Christmas shopping! I would need a VAT invoice made out to my company for the license so that I can claim it as an expense (and get the VAT back). Can you change the wording on the license so that this is the case? For instance, you could set a limit of only 1 "personal" license per company which would get round this restriction. (Or even say that each company can buy the first license for $200 and all the rest for $400, and not draw a distinction between the different types of license). This would help me very much, and other contractors too I'm sure.
