With all due respect to Tim Cochran and his kind offer to (possibly) host
the new list at DISA, I have a question: Is it true that DISA holds the
copyright on the X12 standards (that were built by so many volunteers from
other companies and individuals)? If so, does the sponsorship by DISA mean
that our discussions would then become the copyrighted property of DISA? I
don't like the thought that work that I or my company contributes to can be
copyrighted by someone else simply because they become the caretakers.

I have no problem with _wherever_ the list is kept, and I too have several
e-mail addresses around the 'net. I appreciate all the great information
I've recieved from the list in the past and will travel with the list to
whichever server it's placed on, however I'd like to know that if I
reproduce something for my management or for someone I'm training to do EDI
that I'm not infringing on anyone's copyright by doing so.

Richard - Let me add my personal thanks as well for the support the
previous list had, and to the university for hosting the list. I've
received lots of great information from the list members in the past,
including help at a previous company to choose a new translator (by getting
"real user" comments on the packages we were reviewing.")
