Walter,
You will have to talk to your Van and trading partner. I
suppose you could use PGP, but you have to make sure someone can decrypt
on the other end what you send.
With my VAN, IDX2 from IDEA, they give us transport software
that encrypts here and sends it to the VAN over FTP and decrypts it
there. I've had no one cracking or intercepting my transmissions.

What do people use and what is available for use in encrypting EDI
files prior to sending, especially to a VAN? If we start to use an
open FTP instead of an archaic asynchronous modem we'll need to
encrypt the data.
Are there any low-cost solutions out there for this?
