about a year ago i was doing some resume and phone screening for a company. in
one batch of resumes i saw one
that looked pretty good ... and put it aside. as i read further, i found
another one i liked. and then i realized that it
was almost the same one, with only the name changed. needless to say, they
both went into the shredder.

there are plenty of resumes online, as well as books on resume writing. and
there are lots of "services" that will rewrite
your resume for a fee. you've only got two years of experience to sell, and 8
1/2 by 11 inches to sell it. be truthful. tell
of your hardware and software experience. highlight your education if
appropriate. perhaps add an introduction section
at the start.

if you get turned down, don't be afraid to ask questions. most headhunters
will give you tips and tell you what went wrong.
in some cases you just don't fit the requirements. there are plenty of people
out there with your skills, especially with
only two years of experience. try to get experience that will make you stand
out in the crowd. and also look at your
compensation requirements - were they in line with what was offered? too high?
every employer has a budget to live within.
