Good Evening fellow EDI'ers - I have been watching this thread all last night night and now part of this evening. I will refrain from too many direct sales pitches although I think, and so do our customers that Digital Movers have the best solutions for any EDI firm. I will also refrain from putting in my personal opinion of interconnect fees, although, I have been against them since 1982 when I started in EDI for a large VAN (GEISCO) as a newbie in EDI. I am pleased to say that Digital Movers does not have interconnect fees (interconnects are free) for the public Tier 1 International VANS we resell and they are on Circuit City's approved VAN list. Digital Movers will also migrate your users to the new VAN for free if you choose to leave Sterling. As Art has indicated, and I agree with him that one need not be actuary to firgure out your VAN charges, with us it is a simple monthly KiloCharacter (KC) variable fee with a low flat monthly mailbox fee (fixed). Our thinking is that we provide all the benefits of public International Tier 1 VAN, including detailed reporting, world-class customer service, predicable monthly mailbox fees with no hidden fees etc. The bottom-line is you get all of the benefits of an international, public VAN without any of the cost disadvantages. - end of sales pitch. It goes without saying that we can easily meet your timeframes for your company being up and able to communicate Electronic Business documents with Circuit City. Lisa, This is my $.02 and with that being said, Circuit City's EDI and VAN policy is their policy and you may have to adhere to it if you want to do business with them. Richard said it well this morning, it is bizarre.behavior. I won't guess as to their motivations, but perhaps it is motivated by avarice or some other motivating factor, Circuit City has been quiet on this btw and I know I am curious. Please contact me and we will be glad to assist you meet Circuit City's EDI policy Sincerely, Eric Reidinger Digital Movers, Inc. Lisa, I am the guy who is always pushing Softshare as a solution - because I think for the vast majority of EDI firms, they have the best solutions. But I agree with Leah on this one. You already connect with Sterling. Sterling can interconnect with Softshare so Target will be happy. The only cost Target would incur would be the one-time $25 per TP interconnect setup charge. You could offer to pay for that. That way, you don't have to make any changes in your setup. If they force you to change VANs, go to Softshare VAN, you'll have no worries. They are great, as Joe and others have said, and their pricing plans fit most users better than other VANs. Last week somebody said, "and you don't need an actuary to figure out your VAN charges." Very true. Downtime is not an issue as it seems to be with one of the other VANs mentioned by other responders. I do not receive any commission from Softshare for VAN referrals. Unless they're setting up their own "VAN", I don't know how they can prevent data coming through an interconnect. Maybe you should do some more investigating before you make such a major decision. I have no interest or relationship with Sterling, this just sounds like bullying or misinformation to me. Circuit City is dropping Sterling as a VAN and will no longer accept data form them. They have closed their testing for AS2 for now so we can't go there. We need to find a VAN and establish a mailbox on one of the preferred VANs. Circuit will accept the following: AS2 via our EDI mailbox on GXS, Softshare, Inovis, Easylink, ICC.net, NuBridges, SPS Commerce, or DirectEDI AS2 via GXS Intelligent Webforms (IWF) The only mailbox we have currently is on Sterling. Any ideas on how to do this quick and painlessly. The deadline date is March 1. Thanks for any input.
