Paul, As far as I understand you are looking for a key that is trusted (for your productive environment). Keys are trusted by CAs. There are some CAs where you could get these keys for a fee and there are some others where it is free of charge. Please have for example a look at http://www.startcom.org/.
I don't know the advantage of having a key where you have to pay for trusting it agains one that is free of charge. The only point may be that you need to download and ship (with your exported certificate) the root certificate of the CA because other as2 servers may not be aware of root certificates of smaller CAs.
