You are comparing apples and oranges! AS2 is simply a secure
communications protocol by which "traditional EDI" or any other
document can be exchanged. Traditional EDI is the exchange of
purchase orders, shipping notices, schedules, etc., using X12, EDIFACT
or other protocols, by a communications protocol whether it be ftp,
VAN, AS2, HTTPS or whatever the trading partners prefer.
