Not in the 25+ years I have been doing ANSI ASC X12 applications, I haven't.
After all, don't you want to ACKNOWLEDGE in a dialect the sender is KNOWN to
speak?
Strangley enough - unless my memory is totally gone - I do believe Emanio's
Trading Partner EDI software package allows you to override the application
version-release on the 997. I seem to recall a box on one of the setup
screens for this, a box which made me wonder for what what purpose it might
ever be used.
