It's because the customer has a way of doing it, and standards are flexible! Yes, we are trading partners, but what happened to taking care of your customer? It happens in every business from me dealing one on one with a retailer whose product I am dissatisfied with to large manufacturers who don't want to have to deal with every nuance for every supplier. Not every ones needs are the same and if it's a simple modification, why not? It's not affecting my profit at all, I meet the needs of my customer who meets the needs of their customer. And in the world I've worked in, automotive and banks, you do what the customer wants whether it follows standards or not! It is exactly this attitude why we have such a hard time to achieve interoperability. In the end it is all about money, not compliance, just do what ever it takes to keep the profit high :-( Klaus [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ ...
