To add some fuel to the fire.. I work with UPS billing on a weekly basis at my EDI job. At least twice a year, they either add additional loops to the standard or they are famous for changing the meaning of a qualifier to fit their needs. I have to make semi-annual map changes to keep up so our invoicing output is correct.
So even though theyre using the standard, they add loops, segments, change qualifier meanings.. that make their data non-standard standard. I guess theyre the 800 pound gorilla. Has anyone heard of this type of exception being used that defies the standards. Any thoughts are appreciated.
