This discussion reminds me of when we get a (new) customer who is complaining 
that the file (e.g., PO) we can deliver to them from the X12 data does not 
contain all the information that the printed PO does.

I have to explain what a "print program" is and how it has access to the 
sender's internal data tables.  I try to avoid the esoteric discussion of why 
X12 is supposed to be more "minimalist."

I have an EDIFACT receiver who is trying to get their (Retailer) TP to add a 
(special) FTX that's supposed to include information about the Sales Agent 
(there's no existing place for it in the TP's IG).  The response was 
less-than-positive and we'll see if they ever start including it.
