By the same principle, there *will* also be curmudgeons and spoiled
children who expect somebody else to render their lives 100.000%
spamfree. They, too, should be tolerated within reason, even though
they, too, waste peoples' time and add nothing to the sum of human
wisdom or happiness.
I think that we are being unfair to the postmaster. We all seem to think that he or she, too, should just be quiet and hit the delete key. But why should the postmaster have to put up with have been called the "curmudgeons and spoiled children?" This has been going on for a very long time, and apparently the notes to the postmaster are not of the "Would you please see if you can do something about this? Thanks!" variety. Jackie calls them "particularly nasty," and I don't see why some poor postmaster should have to put up with that.
If the people on this list can't treat others with respect, even when they have been asked over and over again to not send complaints about spam, what can we expect? This is particularly true when the person being abused isn't even part of the list, and is doing us a favor by supporting the list on the NC server.
I think that we should we should allow only members to post, and thank postmaster with putting up with us as long as he/she has.
