Client = netbook, desktop PC doesn't have to do anything. The only
thing that dials is the WRT54G2 router which is connected to the DSL
modem.

I've set RED nic to be PPPoE, and configured it with same PPPoE
settings (username, password, DNS) from WRT54G2, and as I told
Vassilis, DHCP is not enabled in Endian, and RED nic logs are these
