Good Morning,
After a week of icy, cold weather it will warm up and simply rain this
week; much more normal weather for this area. When it snows at the
lower elevations around here it is not wise to travel on the highways
because the locals are not used to driving in it. While 4 wheel drive
vehicles are a little easier to keep moving under these conditions they
do not guarantee traction as some believe.
Propagation has been good to very good this week. Currently ten meters
is doing quite well for DX and for locals if you turn the gain way
down. Yesterday I was listening to the contesters on ten meters as
they would work Japan from New Hampshire. The Japanese stations were
quite loud while the folks on the East Coast were less loud but good
copy. Australia and New Zealand also sounded very good. It was fun to
find islands in the Pacific working stations too.
