Yes "some resistance" might be OK, however several meghoms is not.
This gets me to thinking, in ham radio models, wonder how many, which ones, and such can withstand a 5KV to 10KV ESD discharge on any knob, screw or connector and survive. That is one of the standards we had to meet with our products.
