Chris, If you have access to a desoldering iron, you could use that - desoldering braid MIGHT work, but there are 5 leads to that inductor plus the two shield grounding tabs, so it may be tough to remove in one piece.
MOST IMPORTANT - preserve the PC board!!! If you have difficulty getting the inductor out in one piece, crush the inductor with pliers or other instruments of destruction and remove the pins one at a time. Do what you must to preserve the PC board. Elecraft will send you a replacement inductor for an insignificant price (maybe even free if you ask nicely).
