Yes, PowerPoles are by far the most common way to go.  I've been very
pleased with them and put them on most all my DC (and even some antenna)
wires.  The crimping tool is expensive ($45 to $50).  I bought one 6 months
ago and it is one of my best purchases ever.  Swallow hard and pony up the
$50.  Yes, it is possible to do without by using less expensive crimpers or
solder, but if you expect to install more than 5 PowerPole connectors per
year I'd strongly recommend the proper tool from West Mountain Radio.
