While not an 'easy way', there is a way. Take a look at the CW PTT for the K2 article on my website http://w3fpr.qrpradio.com.

The circuit interrupts the paddle lines (and the front panel mic PTT if you add that part) until an external signal (active low) is received.

I have no circuit boards or other parts - I usually construct it on .1 inch perfboard with plated through holes.
