I don’t think there’s much benefit of having MathML+MathJax *over* LaTeX+MathJax, as the results should be very close. Unconditionally loading MathJax would just put the MathML syntax on equal footing with LaTeX w.r.t. MathJax accessibility features. (Page reflowing is definitely still noticeable, but less dramatic).
