I accept the power of BBEdit, and all the love that there is for it, but I 
think it's Mac-likeness is more Mac OS 9-like than what we're aiming for here.

Not that there's nothing to learn from it. I'd say attention to interaction 
detail (as opposed to generic UI detail, which tends to lean more on the visual 
side) is a great trait of OS 9 and something that we should aim for.
