It's less common than it was, but there was a time when an email might take 
several days to be delivered and while uncommon, hours of delay were quite 
common.

It is still the case that sometimes an email can take an hour or so.

But yes, I agree that "Sent" and "Received" are largely redundant. I use "Sent" 
myself, but I acknowledge that is largely out of habit and do to some issues I 
caused when converting mbox files to Maildirs.

I like the idea of "Fetched" as long as we understand that it's a MUA side 
number (this means Welch is going to jump in and yell at us for causing a tech 
support nightmare any second, I guess :) that has no relationship to the actual 
email time/date stamps.
