When people are insisting on insane workarounds and overcomplicating everything to the point of absurdity, snide is an effective tool to point that out. It not only points it out, it reflects my opinion of said workarounds and overcomplications in a clear manner with little room for doubt. I find the entire idea to be ridiculous, in a "mongoose flying an F-16" kind of way. The party scene from "Labyrinth" is less ridiculous than that idea and it had Bowie in that bizarre wig. > > (And, in this case, he doesn't even disagree with you; you just misinterpreted > his post and had a knee-jerk response.) His second post actually explained what he was talking about. It had greater clarity, and so his desired understanding was achieved. I still find it utterly ridiculous, (CSS in an email client. Really?), but at least I understood what he was trying to say. His first post, not so much. Not allowing font choices or size choices in the composer is, to wit, asinine and stupid. I have several relatives that have poor vision, I HAVE to be able to jack the font size up. It is utterly stupid to have to view your email in another window to see what your HTML is generating because your composer won't let you pick a font or a font size. Were I a cynical man, I'd think the idea was to make using HTML so incredibly difficult, no one would. People will abuse, or "misuse", (a meaningless term when talking about email composition, because it always means "NOT WHAT I WOULD DO") any tool you give them. May be accidental, may be deliberate. But creating bizarrely stupid workarounds and limitations so that the only way to change a font size now, evidently, would force editing *style sheets*? That doesn't even pass the laugh test. -- John C.
