I don't know if you have OS X to try, but you can simulate the problem (at least what I assume to be the problem, because it causes the same issue, and is solved the same way) by doing the following in an applescript. set sd to path to system disk set sd to sd as string log (sd) set myStr to "Hard Disk:" log (myStr) If you look at the event viewer, you will see that the first string (sd) is a larger type face than the 2nd string. Any string data appened to the 1st string will also keep the larger type. Emailer will NOT accept the 1st string for file paths, but it will accept the 2nd string. So it might be a Styled text issue, but it looks more like it is a problem coercing an alias into a string (the path to system disk returns an alias, not a string). Looking at the iPhoto code, it looks like the event that gets the photo file path is also first returning an alias. Now, in the case of the sytem disk path, you can fix it by saying "set sd to path to system disk as string". If you do the coercing on the same line, it seems to return a 'normal' string, and not a funny one. But that trick didn't seem to make a difference to the iPhoto line. So my guess is, it might be a bug in AppleScript or maybe something with OS X, but it doesn't seem to be unique to iPhoto. Since iPhoto is an OS X app, I didn't test it under OS 9 to see if the problem goes away. >Even telling Emailer to activate first (like is needed for simulated menu >commands) won't cut it: it won't work from Smile and probably anywhere >outside Emailer. I tried everything (using terms from, double tell, >delay, etc.) If I can figure out how to get Emailer to select the newly made message, I can always issue an Edit Message menu command to it. But as of last night, I couldn't seem to get it to even select the message. I don't know how much of it is my AppleScript ignorance, vs how much of it is Emailer's wacky applescript usage. >A sandwich lasts approximately half a pizza. mmmm... pizza... thanks for the dinner idea!!! -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
