Thank you Tom Fitch for the directions, which I think I followed exactly.

I did this, loose in there? I guess that's where it goes.

So I changed for example, to mail.earthlink.net, but it did not work.
I tried using JUST earthlink.net and that did not work either.
As for email "account" I tried it with both mail and not.
What am I missing here?
