Actually you were right, I didn't change my default mail client to 
Mailsmith. Mainly because I simply looked up the Filemaker Pro-supported 
email clients in Help and didn't see mailsmith. Having said that, I just 
did a test with mailsmith as my preferred client and guess what?.... it 
didn't work. 

If I do switch from Emailer (but not before a trial run under panther 
just in case things settle down again), I may try out one of those bulk 
email plug-ins for FileMaker.
