Yours is certainly one of the sadder transition tales I've heard, and I'm sure that there were some non-PowerMail-related factors and issues. Moving the Emailer database to either PowerMail or Gyazmail is challenging due to the nature of the Emailer database, but there are tools which can get the job done, primarily Emailchemy. With but a few glitches, my entire Emailer database imported into my PowerMail database, and it took hours rather than days. It isn't necessarily easy, and its been too long since I did it for me to remember any tips or tricks, but it sure didn't hurt, except for the obvious: it was painful to stop using Emailer.
