Great, so now the "official" and "final" word on the subject is based on a post that I made saying I couldn't get it to work, and that it didn't appear to work any more in Tiger using Apple's tools to set the pref. I don't know specifically which email you were pointed to, but I know when I last looked into it, I found it didn't work with Apple's pref settings. But I know that I do NOT know all of the details of why it didn't work, and I don't know that it can't be overridden by hacking the plist manually (although ISTR that I tried that and failed, but I may have done it wrong). I also seem to recall thinking (and possibly saying) the same thing that I believe Dave said yesterday... there would be nothing stopping someone from writing an AppleScript that gets set as the default mail client, and that script captures the mailto GURL event and passes it along to Emailer. So yeah, the "official" word on the subject is based off a person that never wrote out the possibility that Emailer can still be set as the default mail client. Strikes me as kind of like how laughable it is that "facts" are now being proven by linking to Wiki entries... and Wiki entries are written arbitrarily by people with validation of any of the claims. Lovely society we have gotten ourselves into. How long before no one has any idea what truth is anymore! -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
