That yours was the "official" and "final" word on the subject was neither said nor implied. It was linked to show that others had had the same problem trying to specify a Classic e-mail reader under Tiger and also not being able to make the pref stick. When I saw your message, I was relieved to know that it wasn't something gone awry in my system that caused the problem and was hopeful that some sort of "patch" might be compiled to correct it. I respect your expertise, so thought if he can't make it work under Tiger without some additional hack etc, then it must be a new element in Tiger. I hope this better clarifies things for you.
