I see no reason why it would. Parallels does not emulate any processors. It takes advantage of "virtualization" abilities that are built into the Core Duo processors. This allows them to basically start a 2nd Intel based machine inside the existing machine. To run OS 8/9 they would have to emulate a PPC processor, which they are not doing. There are products out there that do this. I used a 68k emulator to get Emailer running inside Mac OS 8 on my Intel iMac running OS 10.4.3. It worked. I was able to send and receive email just fine. Why did I choose not to use Emailer in this manner? A minor issue of it was a 68k emulator, and I never wrote my SMTP Auth hack to work with the 68k version of Emailer. And a more major issue of, since Emailer was running inside a virtual Mac, I had no way of doing things like Command-Click a URL in an email and have it start Safari to load the page. Also clicking MailTo links or similar in OS X would not pass to Emailer in the virtual Mac space. Basically, although it worked just fine, it wasn't going to be anywhere near as nicely integrated as I would have wanted. Emailer in Classic was acceptable, but Emailer in a Virtual Mac I just found was not. So I took the leap and went to an OS X native client, and have been reasonably happy since. If anyone wants to run Emailer on an Intel Mac, I'll be happy to bundle up all the parts needed to do it, and write up some directions and post them for download. But I think anyone that does try it will find the same as me... Emailer is a great product, but it isn't so earth shattering as to be worth using it in this manner. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
