If there is a 68k emulator, what are the odds that we will find (for us diehards) a PPC emulator to run on Intel Macs? I would like to be able to do more than just run Emailer on Intel.
There already are PPC emulators that run on Intel Macs. I didn't get Emailer running under them because at the time that I was working on it, none of them were stable enough or had all the right bits working properly (in particular, network support).
By now, the PPC ones may be working properly. I never went back to the issue as the problem of integrating Emailer in its virtual Mac space with the rest of OS X was still going to be present (ie: command-clicking a URL won't open OS X's version of Safari, and Mailto links won't open Emailer... iPhoto and the likes won't be able to link to Emailer, all the stuff that really puts the spit shine on OS X)
So since those integration issues were going to be present no matter if I was running in on a 68k emulator, or a PPC emulator, I just dropped the issue and moved on to an OS X native email client.
If there is real interest in using Emailer on an Intel Mac, then I can revisit it and see how much further along the PPC emulators are. But this took a chunk of my time and effort the first time around, so I don't plan to do it for someone because they think it would be cool... if they think it is cool, then they can do the effort to figure out how to make it work. But if there is a real need for Emailer on Intel OS X, then I don't mind seeing what I can get running.
