Chris,
     I bet this is what is going on with Time Warner at the moment.  I've 
been
having these intermittent problems when i can't receive or send...that is 
if
I've interpreted "off network" correctly.  I frequently have trouble when 
I
am located  34 feet away from the router, less at 17 feet, but sometimes 
even
close to the cable router it doesn't work for a period of time during the 
day.
