Martin,
I notice you say importing your files into Apple Mail, rather
than
exporting them from Claris and wonder how you do that (step by step)
and why you worked that way round?
Also the Recipient in Claris shows as *S Emailer_talk Martin P
It doesn't show the date or From and To as it does in Claris.

I don't understand the second comment.
As for migrating, you should do this:
Ensure you have a backup.
(This might be a good time to delete unwanted files and rebuild the
Emailer database).
Quit Claris Emailer.
Click once on its icon and go File -> Get info.
Set its memory allocation to 50,000.
Launch Claris Emailer.
Launch Apple Mail and go Window -> Activity viewer.
(This viewer will let you monitor what's happening).
Go File -> Import mailboxes..
Select Claris Emailer "radio button" and click [Continue].
Sit back and wait while a list of all Emailer mailbox folders is
generated.
Click the little dot at the top of the column of check boxes to
deselect them all.
Now select ONE of the mailbox folders by checking (ticking) it.
Click the button to import.
(If an error message pops up about server connection just hit the
[Return] key. It did this continually for me and it really slowed
down the process because I had to sit and watch it.)
Click (Done) when it's finished importing it.
You can rename and move the mailbox once it's imported.
You can set Rules for moving files and setting their color, just as
in Claris Emailer.
You can import as many mailboxes as you like but I recommend you
select only one or two at a time, otherwise your computer could be
tied up for days!
Once you've imported all your mailboxes and set the rules, you can
create your email account(s).While you are still using Emailer with
POP accounts, be sure to set each new account to "Leave messages on
server" for several days, otherwise MAIL will delete them and eMailer
won't get them.
