That might not work with OS X... I tried switching my beige G3 MT to OS X for it still has the serial ports and SCSI. My scanners on the SCSI bus (a film scanner and a flatbed scanner) weren't recognized at all, 'cause there are no drivers for these units for OS X available. In the end I switched back to Mac OS 8.6 under which everything is working perfectly...
