Have you compiled with -g (and maybe -O0)?  That'll get you the 
stacktrace for the LinuxCNC code.  Your distro should have packages that 
provide the debug symbols for binary packages.  On Fedora these are 
called <pkg-name>-debuginfo, and installing the glibc-debuginfo and 
glibc-debuginfo-common packages gets me readable stack traces all the 
way down (until I hit turtles).
