Well we can't support OS's forever. eg we don't support 6.04 anymore.
The isn't an arbitrary decision. It seems support for Hardy is beyond practical
effort.
If you (anyone) are happy with the capabilities of the software there is no
reason to upgrade
anyways.
But if you want 2.6 capabilities -it seems you may have your good reason to
upgrade. :)
IMHO, this becomes somewhat of an regrettable but no-brainer decision.
unless we want to stop development of Linuxcnc...
unless we have extra developers that will back port capabilities to 2.5...
