I currently do not have a dog in this fight, but a couple of things to
be aware of...

Some really good work has made it into the kernel recently. In
specific the "tickless" clock (3.8.10+) and refinements to RT_PREEMPT.
The latest stable release is 3.12.2, and that is the kernel I would
likely target if it were me.

On the RTAI side of things, I would be interested in seeing a kernel
support chart. I actually looked around and could not find one. On
LinuxCNC's ToDo Wiki I see they are working on 3.4.55.

Xenomai I have no experience with yet. I am sure that there are others
that can advice you on this.

If you are focusing on Ubuntu, remember that anything version 11 and
below are slated for EOL fairly soon, so I would stick with at least
version 12 or newer, and the current release is in the 13 range.

Other than that, someone should have a plan chart around. Looking at
the Wik <http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Todo-2.6> There are a
number of tasks that I would not expect understanding the code deeply
(like getting the build bot working on Handy, and help with the
translation mess). Are these things you could help with? Are there any
other things not on the ToDo list?

Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business. Most IT
organizations don't have a clear picture of how application performance
affects their revenue. With AppDynamics, you get 100% visibility into your
Java,.NET, & PHP application. Start your 15-day FREE TRIAL of AppDynamics Pro!
