We've discussed UBC plenty in the past, it's all in the mailing list 
archives if you want the details.

The gist is: UBC is a fork, not a feature branch, and as such won't be 
merged into any branch of linuxcnc, ever.  Some of the features in UBC 
are cool and useful, and would be welcome contributions to linuxcnc if 
someone would do the (significant) work of splitting them out into 
feature branches for individual testing and review.

If you truly want to help, that's how.
