I cannot speak to the testing script, but I will say that there are a 
handful of changes that need to be done to make 2.7 code run in 3.0+.  I 
doubt that LCNC will run on any python3 interrupter (and would be happy 
to be proven wrong).

That said, we really should get all the python scripts running in 2.7 
and 3.4 as they are the most stable.
