Hi Chris,

Andy asked about the multi-spindle stuff before the last discussion and I thought it should be fine to get in before the release. I do think we should probably freeze new features now - but I'm open to any suggestions on that as well!

I'm pretty hammered at work right now, but I'll make a diligent effort to work on this more very soon.

Or... if someone else would like to volunteer to take over the release management I would be quite fine with that as well. I have not had the time or energy to put much into it - and I and volunteered in part because no one else seemed to want the job. If not - I'll keep going and try and get a release out soon.

Thanks,
Moses

We started this discussion so I will press my luck a bit....
Is my understanding right that you are the release manager of 2.8?
If so could you publicly decide / announce a rough time line of release?
I see Andy has pushed his spindle work to master so was the decision to release
later ? Did I miss that?

I believe, (at least soft) deadline are necessary to keep this project alive
and thriving in the long term.

I would appreciate if this was public (maillist) and not private (IRC) (of
course both is good too)

Thanks
Chris M

I agree that we should release sooner than later. It would be great if the
issues mentioned by Rene were fixed prior to a release, but realistically some
of those may take a while.
