That was part of my point, I cannot run the new install twice without a 
reboot to clean up the center ring of this circus. After I've quit, 
lsmod still shows all that stuff loaded. The shutdown script doesn't 
clean house like it usually does.

I gotta go get that mower, its not raining but is forcast for later.
