Hi Mark, Absolutely. The thing is to do with this type of declaration to the FDA, which I've done, you have to state that any connection or disconnection of fiber cables shall be done only when the equipment is powered off AND that prior to power up for any service maintainance and/or normal use that ALL fiber connections to the laser transceivers be made.
In other words, during normal use, service or maintainance, the intent of the product is to have ALL lasing be in the fiber - i.e. all laser transceiver ports are populated with fiber. All this has to be clearly stated to the end user in the documentation.
