But this is not the point; the thread is about products claiming Class I with *no connection to the mains PE*.

I got the impression that all energized parts of this UUT were isolated, and there was no place where a PE connection might be made. Why one might wish to add a PE conductor and claim Class 1 I can't imagine. Advertising?
