I've mostly made either positive plugs or negative moulds for composite moulding or lead casting (these are all for model boat parts): aluminium rudder mould (rudder is made with carbon fiber skins + balsa or epoxy/microballoon core: http://www.anderswallin.net/wp-content/2005_12/formar.jpg MDF deck plug (painted and sanded and then a mould in glassfiber is laminated on top of this) http://www.anderswallin.net/wp-content/2006_04deck/adeck2.jpg aluminium keel bulb mould (bulb is cast in lead) http://www.anderswallin.net/wp-content/2003_05/cncmoldst.jpg It's surprising how many 'pro' cnc-shops won't even quote this kind of 3D work since they don't have 3D CAM, or are only experienced with 2.5D. AW PS. one of the Americas Cup syndicates must have too much money and time on their hands. A guy working there made an aluminium mould for the whole boat!
